Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Stark Caverns

Stark Caverns invites you to share an adventure as unique as your relationship with a one-of-a-kind pairing event on February 14, 2020. Local Chef Allen Plemmons has created a brand new menu of culinary creations crafted to complement selections from a number of regional wineries and breweries.

His roasted pork loin with squash hash and apple balsamic will pair beautifully with the Peanut Butter Stout created by Lake of the Ozarks Brewing Company. Seven Springs Winery will showcase their locally grown & produced Dry Vignoles alongside Plemmons’ fall chutney and goat cheese crostini.

A specialty spicy pork tostada has been created to work with the flavors of black currants and cherry in Canterbury Hill Winery’s signature “Excalibur”. Camdenton, MO based Golden Rock Winery’s Green Apple Gewurztraminer will accompany anti-pasta skewers.

In a recent interview, Plemmons shared his excitement in revealing a recipe he’s been developing for the past several months. “It’s excellent timing because Bee’s Knees Ale House out of Versailles has introduced a Chocolate Covered Cherry Stout that is amazing. I’m ecstatic to pair it with my Cherry Ginger Gravlax with creme fraiche and cherry salsa canapé. The savory fattiness of the salmon pairs perfectly with the acidity of the cherry and the ginger curing process.”

This delightful menu of pairings, along with the theme of Valentine’s Day inspired us to call the event The Perfect Pair. To top off the evening, after their stroll, guests will be able to relax and enjoy dessert, coffee and live music in the cave ballroom.

The cost of $50 per person includes five pairings, dessert, and a commemorative photo. Guests must be 21 years old and provide valid ID at check-in. Then the Fall Festival at Stark Caverns is the place for you. There will be cave tours, geode cracking, sluice mining, great food, and of course, opportunities to shop.
